50 Best (and Average) Startup Logos From Europe in 2013!

With 2012 come and gone (and half of 2013) we saw many European economies put to the test by the financial crisis. Some startups from last year reflect this bad environment in their poor logo design, while other ventures managed to shine despite the crisis. Today we are taking a good peek at 50 startup company logos from the old continent. In terms of noticeable logo design trends, European startups preferred minimal approaches with typical, clean and strong typography, and bright, contrasting colors - something we've seen across the online logo design service as a whole. Other logos seemed to go too far on the wrong side of minimalism, forgetting to leave in anything memorable or identifying.

The Rest: Not-So-Great / Room for
Improvement Startup Logos.

We love Barcelona based B2B startup BMAT, which Wired Magazine mentioned in their roundup of top 100 European startups of 2012 but we think it's a little conservative for the music industry and references the same motifs we see in other music startups such as Shazam. Same goes with social weather mobile app Weendy. We love the app's concept and whilst it's cool that the logo kinda references ionic columns and blue and white color scheme that hints at the founders home country (Greece), we're not sure it does the job of communicating the brand's essence.
