The brand was cool. The brief was deceptively simple and the $1,500 contest prize got our designer community's attention.
Music Artwork Contest for Spotify
Recently, DesignCrowd hosted a graphic design contest for music streaming service, Spotify, to crowdsource a beautiful music inspired artwork for their #NowFeeling campaign. Spotify created the campaign that shares people's #NowFeeling stories of connecting with each other through music, enabled by Spotify. The winning artwork will be featured on Spotify social media channels, media campaigns and events.
The Brief
Create a digital artwork that best captures how music makes people feel and brings them together. Spotify's goal was to "showcase playful - but honest - moments between people, and in doing so showcase how the platform enables discovery, sharing, and conversation through music."
The Winner
The contest attracted 110 designers who submitted over 280 designs. The winning design was submitted by US designer Elylevy, a graphic designers and illustrator based in Los Angeles, California. Elylevy's design (featured below) is a compilation of flat, geometic icons inspired by how music connects and unites people in different ways.
Elylevy says:
With this design I wanted to communicate how Spotify's #NowFeeling campaign connects all kinds of different people (even animals!) and allows them to share moments of happiness... The bold, bright colors and idiosyncratic shapes represent the broad range of emotions felt while experiencing music...
Congratulations to all the designers who participated in the Spotify graphic design contest. Which was your favorite crowdsourced graphic design from the Spotify contest? Was your design featured in this article? Let us know in the comments below!
