Having analyzed the logos of the world's top-earning companies of 2015, we have hopefully shed a little light on what trends to look out for and even emulate. One of our findings was top businesses like to focus on just one or two colors to represent their brand, and reigning chief among these colors was the trusty and popular blue.
Blue does not only represent 28% of top-earning businesses, it's also most people's favorite color. It represents trust, cooperation, purity and tradition. Its conservative reputation and typically cool tone makes it very popular for science and technology companies, while its association with water and sky make it great for environmentally conscious endeavors and wellness brands.
Of the top 100 companies, most of those choosing blue are in technology and business or banking sectors, speaking to blue's reputation for reliability. Very few food companies chose blue, and of those which did, most pair it with more vibrant colors like red, which are proven to stimulate appetite. Yellow is another color popular for pairing with a primarily blue logo, perhaps to allow its cheerfulness and youthful energy to offset the more demure blue.
